Our founder, and director, is a writer, entrepreneur, and champion whip artist, Gery L. Deer. Gery’s long history with the whip began for him around 1980. As a fan of the old Western serials, Douglas Fairbanks and, of course, Indiana Jones, he’s turned his passion for whip arts into part of his career in business and entertainment.

Over the years he has earned multiple regional and international titles in whip speed and accuracy including special recognition for his accomplishments with long whips and specialized, dual whip candle snuffing. His performances have been featured on stages all over the United States including the Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh and national television appearances on shows like NBC’s America’s Got Talent, Steve Harvey’s Big Time Challenge and The Bonnie Hunt Show.

Gery’s teaching style is patient and forward-thinking. He is skilled with virtually any kind of whip from the swivel-handled American cowhide to specially-designed Australian-styled equipment.
